    POSITION SUMMARY
    Under general supervision monitors or cares for infants, toddlers and/or preschool children.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Provides care for infants, toddlers and preschool children when assigned to Teenage Parent Program (TAPP), including feeding, diapering and toilet training.
    • Grades tests as required.
    • Assists instructors and other aides in various classroom activities and programs.
    • Operates various technical, audio-visual and office equipment,
    • Monitors student performance and behavior.
    • Instructs and supervises students regarding childcare and guidance.
    • Attends professional development programs per AZ childcare regulations.
    • Performs clerical duties as assigned (filing, copying, etc.)
    • Performs related duties as assigned.
    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in accepted infant and childcare practices.
    • Knowledge of AZ childcare regulations.
    • Knowledge of accepted behavior management techniques and practices.
    • Demonstrate general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Basic reading skills.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • 6 months experience working with infants and preschool children (for TAPP positions)
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
    • Finger Print Clearance Card
    • 6 months experience with preschool or school age children (for Classroom assignments)
    • Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk. The employee may be required to regularly lift up to 30 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor classroom environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students, staff and the public.

    $15.24/hour (ASRS Retirees will have a lower hourly rate due to the Alternate Contribution Rate)

    9 Month position - 7.5 hours/day
