  • POSITION SUMMARY
    Provides services to students eligible for related services in the Marana Unified School District; improves, develops, restores or maintains a childs sensory motor function in educational environments; functions as related service personnel under state and federal law and regulations; and is responsible to the Director of Educational Services.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position specific duties.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services under IDEA and prepare written reports of the evaluations and findings
    • Participate in meetings as member of the multidisciplinary team
    • Participate in development of IEP for eligible students
    • Provide direct and indirect physical therapy in educational settings/least restrictive environments to children
    • Collaborate with other school personnel regarding physical therapy and the students needs
    • Delegate activities to teachers, parents and paraprofessionals
    • Train/instruct teachers, parents and paraprofessionals in delegated techniques and equipment use
    • Travel to and among schools to provide services
    • Maintain records of service provided
    • Lift, transfer and position children and equipment as necessary
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Skills/Knowledge of:
    • Identification of physical impairments/delays
    • Treatment planning specific to school aged students
    • Intervention including but not limited to:
      • Facilitation of developmental motor skills
      • Postural awareness, ambulation and gait training
      • Sensorimotor processing
      • Cardiovascular function
      • Wheelchair mobility
      • Adaptation or modification of equipment
      • Recommendation and monitoring of orthoses and other assistive devices

    Education and Experience:
    • Degree in physical therapy from an accredited program and two years experience in the field of physical therapy; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Licenses and Certifications:
    • License to practice physical therapy in Arizona
    • Arizona Medicaid provider number/eligibility
    • NPI number/eligibility
    • Must possess a valid Arizona Drivers License
    • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk. The employee may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    This position normally works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students, staff, parents and the public.

    Salary:
    $71,926.00 - 74,859.00 (based on 23-24 hiring schedule)

    ***9 Month Contracted Position - Exempt Position
